BM for Breton - Diamond-bladed saw for marble with block raising

The “BM FOR BRETON
diamond gangsaw for sawing blocks of marble or other limestones, with a system that lifts the block as it’s sawn.

Entirely  made and assembled in Italy with european  parts and first-rate international components.

THE FAMOUS BM GANGSAW, CUSTOM-BUILT FOR BRETON:
A tried and tested
BM gangsaw, custom built by BM to meet Breton’s own specifications.

DOUBLE WARRANTY:
The Warranty and After Sale Service are provided directly by Breton to the end user, with the back-up of BM.

THE MOST WIDELY-USED MARBLE GANGSAW IN THE WORLD:
Thousands of BM gangsaws have been built and it is without a doubt the most widely used gangsaw in the world.

UNBEATABLE RELIABILIT Y, IT NEEDS VERY LITTLE MAINTENANCE:
The BM gangsaw has made its name for unbeatable reliability and low maintenance as it adopts traditional and time tested mechanical solutions such as the kinematic blade frame traversing system, consisting of straight ar ticu- lated guides; a strong and simple solution.

FAST, PRECISE SAWING:
Precise sawing thanks to the rigidity and well sized steel frame with 4 columns that constantly guide the block lifter platform as it rises. Sawing is fast thanks to the 800 mm saw travel running at 90 strokes per minute and the high-mass, large diameter flywheel that adjusts the driving force.

THE BLOCK-LIFTER PLATFORM
The platform on which the block trolley rests during sawing is placed between four columns and is lifted by 4 x 90 mm diameter worm screws, with a 12 mm trapezoidal thread.
The four worm screws are fastened to the platform. The platform is lifted through the rotation of the lead screw nuts fitted on the top of the column, in a properly protected position. The nuts are turned by a system of bevel gears, drive shafts and inver ter motor

This special solutions extends the service life of the lead screw nuts. The platform moves precisely up on 4 slides (2 flat slides and 2 prismatic slides) fixed to the columns and plated with a thick coat of chrome to guarantee a long working life.

The horizontal level of the platform is constantly checked by a device that stops the gangsaw if the platform tilts.

SLIDING BLADE HOLDER
The blade holder is made of steel plates joined solidly together, each of which has a section of 800 x 600 mm, and slides on straight ar ticulated guides that are practi- cally maintenance free.
FLY WHEEL UNIT
The unit weighs 12 tons and consists of a cast iron flywheel, a 280 mm diameter flywheel drive shaft made of high tensile steel and two cast iron supports with adjustable roller bearings inside.

The 3,300 mm diameter flywheel weighs 8 tons, and guarantees a constant cutting speed, thanks to the high ratio between the inertia of the rotating masses and the inertia of the masses with an alternating movement.

The two bearings of the flywheel shaft are held by two carriers designed to make them easy to check, adjust or replace the bearings, without having to demolish the reinforced concrete foundations.
The 110 kW motor drives the unit through seven 480 mm belts with a low friction coefficient.
A hydraulic joint on the motor drive shaft, assists gangsaw start-up and reduces energy consumption.

THE MOST RELIABLE SYSTEM WITH TWO CONNECTING RODS

The two cranks on the flywheel drive two connecting rods which transfer the movement to the blade holder. The connecting rods are made out of a machined steel monobloc and are suppor ted by bearings running in an oil bath.

The system with two connecting rods provides clear and time tested advantages over a single connecting rod system:
• All the power and the mechanical thrust transferred to the blade holder are shared between two connecting rods instead of just one.
• The two connecting rods fixed to the ends of the blade holder help guarantee the movement, that remains per fectly rectilinear on the guides without any deviation.

SIMPLE  TO USE
A circuit of steel gangways with railings and access steps makes it easy for operators to get around the machine. The control panel has a color touch-screen, which is used to program the machine and control the work phases.

ELECTRONIC PROGRAM:
An optional electronic program can also be supplied, which automatically adjusts the downfeed on the basis of the type of material being sawn. This system automatically regulates the downfeed speed according to the electrical power absorbed, allows the operator to set different downfeeds based on the block heights and also set the heights where the machine stops for preparing the wedges.

AUTOMATIC STOP SYSTEM AND SLAB BREAK SENSORS:
An automatic quick stop system is available as an optional feature. The system powers the motor with reverse current, slowing it down up to a standstill in 20 seconds.
The quick stop system is activated by the sensors which checks the slab hasn’t broken while being sawn.

Antolini do Brasil takes particular care in the stone production process to ensure a high-quality end product

By Jennifer Adams (StoneWorld.com)
Antolini Luigi & C. is more than just a stone producer. The Verona, Italy-based stone manufacturer has become a brand name synonymous with luxury. This company is the setter for the stone industry. Well-known for its exotics, luxuries and precious material, Antolini Luigi & C. is a company that continually thinks outside the box, and always produces unique and high-quality stone products for markets worldwide.
Always looking to expand upon its brand, the Italian stone manufacturer opened Antolini do Brasil outside of Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil, in 2008.

The alchemy between the Antolini brand and the true essence of the materials with which they work gives rise to unique products. The very roots of the company began and evolved with natural stone and the connection between this precious element to the Earth and its primordial history is the basis of the company’s philosophy, as well a means of creativity.
The company’s success is founded on certain vital key factors:
Intuition, the ability to see the quality and uniqueness of a natural stone before others;
Respect for the past, for the history contained within the materials, for the experience of previous generations who laid the foundations for the development of a major business organization;
Passion for the Natural Stone;
Openness to evolution and change that continuously drives the Antolini organization to seek out and blaze new trails in the processing of natural stone in order to obtain faultless products from the aesthetic and modeling point of view.

Since its opening, the company continues to invest in its South American facility, which exports around 80% of its material to North America.

With approximately 100 workers, Antolini do Brasil runs two shifts — meaning production is non-stop. At the time of Stone World’s visit, thousands of blocks at the facility were ready for processing.
Apart from the six jumbo gangsaws and two mono-wire machines, Antolini do Brasil has one Italian multi-wire machine and has just purchased a new Ramos Universo one.

Antolini thinks that it is important to have two multi-wire machines to improve and increase their production of the exotic and high-end-exotic materials, for which they are very strong and famous.

Extreme care is taken during the production process to ensure that all the slabs are properly treated. Raw slabs of exotic stone are all automatically resined on a Levibreton resin line from Breton S.p.A. of Italy, then sent through a
Breton vacuum line in order to suck in the high quantity of resin in the stone slabs. Then the slabs are polished on a Levibreton KG 3000 Ultrix polishing unit.
To ensure top-notch quality, a slab selector is stationed at the end of the production process to check each slab to make sure that the quality is right. The selector classifies each slab. Slabs are then bundled and ready for shipment.
Once a bundle is ready, a picture is taken of it and then the bundle is moved to the warehouse where according to Antolini, most of the bundles are pre-sold.

In keeping with the sophisticated brand
Antolini has conjured, the warehouse has two main “avenues” — appropriately named Rodeo Drive and 5th Ave. — running through it.
Antolini has a tagging system where every bundle gets a label with the material’s name, block number, weight and a customer’s code. Each bundle is given its own “address,” making it easy to find it once it is placed in one of their warehouses. Everything is extremely organized, which is particularly impressive based on the large volume of containers that are loaded and shipped daily from Antolini do Brasil. Quality and customer service are top priorities of the company and the Antolini family really prides itself on excelling in this area.
Thanks to Stone World and to Jennifer Adams.
Bye-bye

The company Oscar Daffe chooses Breton “FUEGO” for its workpieces

Craftsmanship, efficiency and art describe perfectly the essence of Oscar Daffe
A Belgian enterprise with more than 85 years of experience during which has refined innovative stone processing techniques. To admire kitchen tops and wall coating or stairs executed by Oscar Daffe, real architectural masterpieces, means to admire real works of Art.

Created in 1929 in Wauthier-Braine, the Oscar Daffe Company has been run by the Brams family since 1982, who has managed to secure the business international consolidation through its passion and professionalism.
Importing extra blocks of marble and granite from all over the world, working masterly the Belgian “pierre bleue”, the “marbrerie” Oscar Daffe has produced and often exported some of the most appreciated and valuable furniture accessories and fine interior architectural elements.

As a matter of fact, at Oscar Daffe the whole range of products is tailored according to the customer’s requests who selects the type of the stone and the size of the object.
This modern and accurate approach has attracted well-known designers and architects, professionals who have been able to express their creativity utilizing the high technological component of Oscar Daffe’s vast gamut of machines and the know-how of its technical staff in order to realize their exclusive projects.

The Belgian Company has pointed straight at the new Breton Fuego Multi-axis, a shaping machine with 10 interpolated axes, a genuine and proper desired object for many marble masons which has already been chosen by other first-rate companies, such as Savema (in Carrara) and Kienesberger (in Austria).
A purchase which was suggested by Oscar Daffe’s necessity to execute more and more complexes architectural shapes and which has identified in the Fuego the most appropriate answer to such requirements.
The Fuego Multi-axis is characterized by the large sizes of pieces is able to produce and by the modern adopted technical solutions, some of them have been even patented.

An «easy and performing» machine; these are the characteristics of the Fuego and this is the reason why it is longed for at Wauthier-Braine.
Breton has inserted in this multi-axis machine all its technology developed during 30 years of experience on numerically controlled machines: transferring a trolley on each column and positioning two pulleys with diameter of 1.000 mm even solved the ancestral problem of the wire inclination which forced the structure to be placed under the ground level.

No more bothering “tanks” on the column sides. Thanks to this system designed by Breton, Fuego works blocks with max height of 1.800mm with the wire inclined of +/- 20*, while in the event of a parallel wire the distance between the block-holding trolley base and the diamond wire is 2.200mm.

Have you ever imagined that design could originate from “Fuego”?
For info and price of Fuego Multiaxis write to mail@breton.it.
We’ll get back to you promptly.
Well, that’s all for today, thanks for your attention.

LUXBRETON CGA 200/4 - Waxing machine for marble and granite slabs

Good morning everyone and a Happy New Year!
Now that our Christmas vacations are over, I’d like to introduce you to the waxing machine LUXBRETON CGA 200/4 for marble and granite slabs.

Structure and spindles
The support structure consists of an arc-welded steel monobloc to be fixed to the floor, with no need of civil works.
The beam mounting four brush holding spindles runs on guides machined on the support structure, and is actuated by an inverter controlled self-braking gearmotor.
The four brush holding spindles consist of a heavy-duty cast iron casing inside which slides a suitably lubricated rotating shaft, which is lifted/lowered by means of a pair of pistons with constantly protected stylus. The centralized lubricating points are conveniently located for the operator, on the front part of each spindle.

Slab profile readingThe slab profile reader provided with through-beam photoelectric barrier for the automatic adjustment of the beam travel and the automatic spindle lifting/lowering is positioned at the front of the machine.

Control panel
The control panel is fixed to a movable, ergonomic, suspended arm and includes a 5,7-inch colour graphic touch-screen with button control for the machine control and programming.

Wax dosage
The precise wax batching system combined with an efficient programming software enable to minimize wax consumption. The solenoid valve for wax batching is directly mounted on the spindle axis, therefore the wax path is remarkably shortened and dosage is performed with great precision.

An effective waxing cycleThe machine is equipped with three vessels containing the wax, which are positioned at the machine front for easy inspection.
The wax spraying cycles and the position of wax sprayers are coordinated with the position of each single brush in order to guarantee the perfect waxing of the slab whole surface.
Each spindle holds a brush with bristles coming in different consistencies, diameter and rotation speed so as to spread and polish the wax perfectly.
The wax feeding duct is automatically cleaned at programmed intervals by means of an air flow thus preventing any possible residue of wax.
The last three spindles polish to perfection the wax that the first waxing spindle has applied to the slab.
